Re: Backing vocals
... I have a karaoke version on youtube (WAV) of the song and I'm wondering if I can remove the instrumental part through audacity so I keep on backing vocals. if possible, how do I do that? I've tried everything from the videos on youtube but it did not work. Isolating parts is only possible in so...

Re: Quiet chh sound at beginnin of mosts beat
In a song, there is a chh sound from the percussion at the beginning of most beats. Once I started noticing that, that is what my mind focuses on and I can no longer listen to the rest of the song. Pre-echo ? ... Pre-echo ... is a digital audio compression artifact where a sound is heard before it ...

Re: Help With Vocal Audio Clip
There are apparently some paid, proprietary tools that claim to be able to "de-reverb" a recording. Perhaps someone else can chime in if they know what they are and if they work. I saw this DeVerberate plugin recently , (free-trial version has spoiler silence inserted randomly) http://aco...

Re: Can the performance of Nyquist in Audacity be improved ?
... background processes and applications running in the background will have a stronger impact on performance than on a multi-core or multi-processor machine. I've yet to try Paul-L's plugins on Linux , which isn't slowed by the anti-virus, (as on Windows), running in the background. I'll do a ben...

Re: Can the performance of Nyquist in Audacity be improved ?
Does CPU use and memory use go up dramatically, or is little memory used? CPU increases from about 5% to about 50%, no obvious increase in use of memory ... DeClicker processing 1 second of audio (with 25 frequency bands).gif To be fair , with 25 bands selected it's like running 25 compressors simu...

Paul-L's DeClicker plugin does what it says on the tin , ( it's quicker than manually cutting out or repairing clicks ).Scribetrotter wrote:I guess I can live with it and simply cut it out each time - it's just an odd thing and doesn't make much sense since it then goes away...

Can the performance of Nyquist in Audacity be improved ?
Is there any way of improving the performance of Nyquist plugins in Audacity, e.g. by giving it more memory to work with , (i.e. increase "buffer size" ). The reason I ask is when using Paul-L's excellent plugins processing time is slow if many "frequency-bands" are selected. It'...

Re: Silent sound capture, can someone help me?
I agree that Tinnitus could be a reasonable explanation, but if so I'd expect that jeanacm would experience it at other times rather than only "in a particular location". I can most noticeably hear my tinnitus in the quietest room in my home, which is a "a particular location" ....
