Re: "White noise" effect on recording
... Does that imply that I could turn that analogue-hiss into the waterfall noise if I applied the appropriate filters in Audacity? And, if so, what in your estimation would that/those filter(s) be? If you're looking to create ghostly-whispering EVP-effect , Audacity's "Paul Stretch" does...

... I still don't hear the words you heard ... The pareidolia is a subjective thing : people hear words in their own language and dialect because their brain is biased to interpret sounds in that way. It appears to me that the internal integrated microphone array is perhaps optimized for the spoken...

Re: convert Audacity Wav file (pure audio) upload to YouTube
I've tried porting the wav file onto Windows Media Maker then to Windows Movie Maker, (successfully saved the Wav file on Windows Movie Maker) but when I try to upload to Youtube, the Youtube says it recognizes the Audacity Wav file only as a 'Project file' and not video. Once you have the slide-sh...

Re: "White noise" effect on recording
My niece's Sony recorder has noise removal permanently turned on and she hears the water sound on recordings, depending on where in the house she places the recorder. "Noise removal" digital-processing converts old-fashioned analogue-hiss into that bubbly EVP-type noise , i.e. the noise r...

Re: "White noise" effect on recording
... Now we're more concerned with identifying the source of the "white noise" and understanding why it appears to be interfering with the recording functionality of the laptop and her Sony recorder. A common-denominator between two recording devices could be the quality setting of the mp3...

Re: "White noise" effect on recording
What I am hearing sounds like one of those sleep aid recordings of a waterfall or stream. Perhaps I can upload it so you can hear it. You can only attach files up to 1Mb to posts in this forum , so that's about ten seconds of WAV at 44100Hz monaural, ( not stereo) , which may be sufficient for us t...

Re: "White noise" effect on recording
There was some very distorted CCR music over some kind of white noise which sounded like running water. There was also some low level hum. If anyone has any idea what this might be I would appreciate your input. Could the "... noise which sounded like running water ... also some low level hum&...

Re: When recording from device laptop hears playback! Help
... I have been fiddling about with the 'recording devices' and 'playback devices' by right clicking the sound icon on the lower toolbar on my desktop. Perhaps that's the issue? The built-in microphone should be listed in 'recording devices' you can disable it there ... http://www.thewindowsclub.co...
