Re: High Pitched Whining Whilst Recording
... one of the other whine posters got rid of his problem by purchasing a Zoom H2n stand-alone recorder. He has first-hand experience that even when used as a USB microphone, there's no whine, I'm guessing because of the H2n's internal power processing. Or maybe it's always on batteries. That the H...

Re: De-Clicker Settings Problems
Thanks for the reply Trebor. Sorry I have been a bit of time get back to you, but I was trying one or two things out. I tried your idea of setting to 75 but it made no difference. My settings as on the above screen were the best to date. the 75&75 settings were what I used on Brian Davies Click...

Re: High Pitched Whining Whilst Recording
... Tried the mic on my laptop to see if the noise was still there, got the same exact whine even without the power supply being plugged in. If it is exactly the same whine, on a battery-powered laptop, then either it is being generated by the USB mic itself, or, if you were in the same location, a...

I select the track, giving it a yellow outline, and then go through effect > Nyquist Prompt > C/P the code > then click OK. I've also tried highlighting the track and repeating but to no avail. That sounds like you're doing the right thing ... audio-gif2.gif NB: the whine removal code I posted is s...

If it's shifting pitch, then the notches aren't going to work ... No shifting-pitch within MrSeeb's audio , but the ratio of the harmonics present changes with time ... MrSeeb's audio.png Maybe an artefact of Pulse Width Modulation of the power supply ? ... The resulting spectra (of the three cases...

After posting the code into Nyquist prompt, you then have to apply Nyquist prompt to the audio as if it was an Effect,MrSeeb wrote:Copying and pasting that code into the Nyquist prompt hasn't changed anything by the sound of it ...
i.e. select the audio you want to process, then apply Nyquist prompt.

Re: High Pitched Whining Whilst Recording
I have attached a file of audio in which you can hear the whining, I just hope someone can help! Attachments Audio.wav (1.15 MiB) Downloaded It's similar to 1KHz + harmonics interference , however your fundamental frequency is 890Hz, rather than 1000Hz. The code below , pasted into Nyquist prompt [...

Re: What techniques would I use for improve this distortion.
It's all gone a bit Steven Hawking / " Speak-N-Spell ". The signal has dropped in quality and they've [automatically] resorted to a very low-bit-rate codec, which is the Speak-N-Spell effect. And, like you said there's drop-outs too. Nothing can be done to put back missing bits where there...

Re: Using Audacity to remove PC fan noise from mic in real-t
What about recording the sound, making it into the antithesis and then playing that constantly through the mic so it cancels the fan sound? Unfortunately doing that would not cancel-out the sound. Even if the unwanted noise was a constant tone of constant volume , (rather than unpredictable random ...
