Re: Background Sound Behind Voice Over Problem
... I've noticed an anomaly where in the gaps between VO passages, the background music level rises un-naturally, which is most noticeable where the VO gaps are short say 5 seconds ... If you use a compressor on the final-mix* that will make the background-music louder when no-one is speaking. Solu...

Re: Audio Dodo needs help please
There must be some kind of processing associated with that microphone. Or maybe we're listening to some of the processing you did earlier. I'm hearing a swish sound during "as to whether a mister". I've heard similar swish sounds as a consequence of Noise Reduction, ( although not via Aud...

Re: convert affirmations records into binaural beats request
... converting affirmations into binaural beats? binaural beats are in the range ~0.1Hz to ~20Hz , the bare-minimum to reproduce speech is the range 200Hz - 4000Hz. i.e. it is impossible to convey speech with the limited frequency range possible with binaural-beats. Modulating ultrasound with speec...

Re: Specific robot voice
I want to do a cover of The music Death by Robot by Feed Me and I want the robot effect too. You'll need a synthesiser , (software or hardware) , to play the melody in a sawtooth waveform. Record that sawtooth melody in Audacity. Use it as a backing-track and make a recording of you saying* the wor...

Re: Normalize - will not normalize entire recording
... As Hard Limiter is a form of compressor, does this not meam that Leveler would do this as well, as it is also a compressor? Audacity's built-in Leveller effect causes obvious distortion , ( people use it as a distortion-effect ). Whereas Steve's Limiter plugin, (which I linked to above), does n...

Re: Normalize - will not normalize entire recording
I can preview and normalize a small section of my recording. However, when I "select all" and try to normalize, nothing happens. Any suggestions? Try a Limiter instead of Normalise : it will knock-down any anomalous loud bits. You can get a Limiter plugin for Audacity here ... http://wiki...

... I'll post how I did it when I get back into the house. No exotic tools. Koz TEST-patched.wav (773.1 KiB) Sounds smoother after Paul-L's De-clicker ... Koz's ''TEST-patched'' , then DeClicked, then the clicks only.wav If only 4 bands are selected on Paul-L's De-clicker the audio is processed in ...

Re: Audio Dodo needs help please
Thanks Trebor How do I do this Solution: increase the release-time, ( aka decay time ), of the gate, and/or increase the threshold of the gate, so that ends of words are not lost. If you're going to use the noise-gate, my suggested settings for the Noise-Gate are highlighted in Yellow on the image ...
