Re: increasing depth
... applying the Equalizer seriously blows the amplitude off the chart. If I apply a -10 amplification correction it stays between the 'guardrails' :D. Is this the way to do this, or is there another way of controlling the amplification? On Audacity's equalizer drag all the points on the curve you'...

Re: Spitfish problem: real-time previewed effect is stronger
I know you use many effects Trebor, so I assume that this problem is specific to Spitfish VST? I've only just started using 2.1.0 , so not tried a lot or effects as yet, but there are similar problems with some other VSTs , e.g. Antress "modern de-esser" has the same problem : what it sou...

Spitfish problem: real-time previewed effect is stronger ..
[ Re: Audacity 2.1.0 & 2.1.1 running on Windows Vista ]. Spitfish problem in 2.1.0 & 2.1.1 : the previewed effect is stronger than that which is subsequently applied. When using Spitfish the de-essing effect is much stronger in the preview than when it is applied to the audio. Hypothesis : t...

... apears too, when I record, but not talk. I am using microphone Plantronics with external sound cart for USB. Possibly a driver-conflict : one driver can interrupt another , causing the click . You could test if the problem is specific to Audacity by using windows built-in sound recording device...

Re: Version 2.1.1.0 doesn't "remember" equalization :¬(
It's worth enduring that equalizer-bug to have a version of Audacity which has the much-awaited real-time effect-adjustment , ( and better noise-reduction algorithm ). Come to think on it , I could use a VST plugin equalizer in the meantime until the bug is fixed, ( the VST settings are "rememb...
