Re: How to time-lock high speed video and audio
I thought the latency-correction would have fixed it. I was going to suggest trying another sound-recorder, like Window's native one , but I just tried that and it has latency of about 200ms on my machine. ... We could always edit each file after we run our subjects, but that would be incredibly tim...

Re: Playing 44100 Hz files at 48000 with AIMP3
Playing a 44100Hz track at 48000Hz is similar to playing a 33&1/3rpm record at 45rpm : the pitch and tempo will increase. Unless you want to modify the sound, you should play it back at the same sample-rate it was created.

Re: How to time-lock high speed video and audio
... We've rigged the camera to start recording when we push record in Audacity ... The problem is that the audio recording registers the clap consistently between 165-175 ms behind the point the video registers the hands coming together ... The audio is always behind the video. Sounds like a latenc...

Re: Humanize effect
... "Humanize effect" is commonly used to make MIDI drum tracks sound less robotic by slightly varying the velocity and time positions of MIDI note events away from rigid, mathematically exact values. What about David Sky's randomiser plugins ? ... https://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Nyqui...

Re: recording sounds unnatural
I am recording audio from YouTube videos and the voice sounds unnatural ... I think there is a setting I have to set to default or flat and unchanged from original audio--what is it? The YouTube player has different playback quality-settings , those effect the sound quality. Some YouTubes have high...

Re: Equalizer won't hold last setting....
Another workaround : use a [free] VST equalizer plugin in Audacity 2-1-1 to obtain real-time equalization , see video here ... http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic ... 67#p282267

Re: can't install extra effect settings?
I can testify that Gsnap & Kerovee work in 2.0.6 & 2.1.1. [ running in Windows Vista] Audacity 2.1.X allows real-time adjustment of effects, including Gsnap , ( some teething problems real-time adjustment though : occasional crashes ). I have not even been prompted to answer if I wanted thes...

Re: Working with a very large (100+) clip library
In Audacity you can split-up an audio file into many individual files, each individually labelled , then export [save] the labelled sections as individual files , (e.g. into a [Windows/Linux] folder you've named "Clip Library #999"). You can drag-n-drop audio files [e.g. from a folder] int...

Re: Spitfish problem: real-time previewed effect is stronger
Does it make any difference if you disable the "Latency compensation" option? http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/effect_menu.html#vst_options I asked that earlier on. For Spitfish, the answer was "no difference": http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?p=282064#p282064 . I...
