Re: Is there a plugin that automatically evens volume differ
... Is there a plugin that automatically evens volume differences (combining gain, compression, leveling, normalizing as needed, all in one)? ... a (free!) plugin (for Audacity) like the "The Levelator 2" free software program? The Levelator 2 automatically edits all the highs and lows an...

Re: Strange noises on telephone
The last three words sound like "thermometer" "computed" "horizon" , so maybe telemetry . I've changed my mind about the last phrase : sounds more like "spotters up" ... member , all-the-time , themometer , computed , spotters-up , [IMO].wav But the last phra...

Re: Change volume in one clip
... I could not raise the volume with the envelope tool You have to zoom-out on the vertical (amplitude/volume) scale to do that : place the cursor somewhere on the vertical scale, (it will become a magnifying-glass icon) , then click on the right-hand mouse-button. The vertical scale now extends f...

Re: about equalizer
I am a software engineer. I need help from Aduacity Forum for improving audio quality of the smart phone The frequency-response of the SmartPhone loudspeaker is a " bottleneck " for sound quality : its reproduction of bass frequencies are generally poor. Here is how you can test the perfo...

Re: Audacity 2.1.1: Downgrade from Win 10 to Win 7?
Compatibility mode : Runs the program using settings from a previous version of Windows. Try this setting if you know the program is designed for (or worked in) a specific version of Windows. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows-8/older-programs-compatible-version-windows What is program comp...

Re: Can anyone make impulses?
Voxengo offer software to do that ... http://www.voxengo.com/product/deconvolver/themickster wrote:I'm hoping to make impulses of my own soundgear.
Apparently the free demo copy is "limited to 3 deconvolution operations per program's session" ,
[ I've never used it myself ].

Re: Can anyone make impulses?
Voxengo have some free ones ... http://www.voxengo.com/impulses/ Their convolution reverb plugin , which uses the impulses, has a spoiler every 25 seconds , unless you buy it, [ ~$100  ]. Apparently convolution is possible [for free] using code in Audacity's "Nyquist Prompt", see .....

Re: Distortion/interference on Audacity recordings
... are there any obvious issues I should be checking, that is, anything other than just downloading and trying other versions of Audacity? I believe Windows-7 comes with a built-in sound-recording program, see ... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sound_Recorder_(Windows) If you try recording with tha...

Re: instrumental removal
... my plan was to record myself playing the tenor part on guitar (at the same pitch and tempo as the tenor viol on the original recording). Then import my guitar part into audacity and inverted it and add it to the original to remove tenor viol. Can that work? Even if you got the same violinist to...

Re: Which audio interface?
I have an old Edirol UA-1EX interface which has served my needs for years, mainly used to record stuff I want to keep from i-player recordings. Recently though I''ve been getting a lot of little break-ups during recordings which suggests it's maybe time to buy a new interface. I've recently switche...
