... I was trying to record a harmony on guitar, and while I've figured out how to record two tracks, their volume levels are such a pain. The first track is pretty much clear, and I have no issue with it. The second track, however, when I play there is barely any audio. It doesn't pick the audio up...

How come Audacity does not install itself in the main Program Files folder?
Currently Audacity for Windows is a 32-bit program, (even though now most computers are 64-bit).
"x86" = 32-bit programs.

I did have the Beats Audio box checked. Unchecked it and audio quality was even worse. Here's the first part of Steppenwolf's Sookie Sookie after Beats Audio (Listening Experience) was unchecked. De-esser plugins are a cure, e.g. ... viewtopic.php?p=404021#p404021

A compressor set only to act above 4kHz will also de-ess.
