Re: sound plays back as noise
That's very strange. It sounds like it's badly clipped/overloaded but the waveform isn't clipped and there are lots of dynamics. There's audio chopped-out every 1/100th of a second ... audio chopped out.png Softwares can fight over who has control of the sound card, that can cause consistent interr...

Re: crosstalk between hard panned tracks
I'm building (and have been sent) some click tracks for the band and the issue I face is this: the right channel (click) is bleeding into the left channel (keys) and vice versa ... If fresh headphones don't cure the crosstalk, see if the computer sound-card is applying a stereo-reverb effect, ( a f...

Re: Levels & Pop / click diagnosis?
The Gmulti settings I used were what sounded good to me: so they're not written-in-stone. - 0dB / -33dB / -42 Thresh - any signal above XdB will have compression applied to it (why the difference for the different bands?) The dynamic-range isn't constant across the whole spectrum, e.g. there is very...

Re: How to vizualize and play extremely large MP3 files?
Thanks, @Trebor. This might be good if you have the MP3 already in Audacity. But the problem is, how to get a >1 GB MP3 into Audacity?... Provided you have enough spare memory, Audacity will display a 10 hour MP3 ... It will take about 15 minutes open it* though, and another few minutes to generate...

Re: Voice Recording is Metallic
... I have just got a new PC and installed Audacity. I run a Rode microphone through a USB interface (Guitar Rig 4) and I am getting this metallic line noise with my voice overs. It sounds and looks like ring-modulation, (via a square-wave of 6.3kHz) ... Audacity spectrogram of 'TEST 3 LINE NOISE W...

Re: Silence Injection on Clipping - possible?
... what I do is clap once, very hard, to force the audio to clip; this tells me, when looking at the wave-form, where I need to inject a two-second pause ... But I wonder, is it possible to automate this process? So that, where the application recognizes an instance of clipping, it injects a secon...

Re: Will Studio Soundproof Absorption Foam help audio
Acoustic foam is a remedy for a problem you don't have. (if you have noisy-neighbors, foam on the walls won't help).Zero101 wrote: I use the Blue Yeti microphone and here is my audio - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CrGiuyMuV_0

Re: How to vizualize and play extremely large MP3 files?
I would like to take longterm recordings to check whether some noises appear periodically and what these noises are ... instead of listen to the file 1:1, I would like to LOOK at it, if and when there are some noise occurences. I think Audacity's spectrogram view , (rather than waveform view), is w...

Re: Making CD from vinyl
... I'm making music CD's from Vinyl and making an Audacity Project file is fine. Converting the full album (1 file) to Mp3 is fine but I want to burn to CD with each track as an individual file and to play consecutively. If the CD is to be played on a stand-alone device, e.g. in-car audio-system, ...
