Re: Help identifying the cause of the "pop"
...The solution I found online, which I tested and seemed to work, was to convert all files to mp3 (which they need to be for my project) ... That explains how you managed to create a slightly-stereo track from a single mic : mp3 format is an approximation , the two stereo channels created are slig...

Re: Help identifying the cause of the "pop"
When I split the stereo to mono, can I delete either track, regardless? (Are differences very subtle?) Or, should I listen to both mono tracks to see if there is one I like better, and discard the other? Your stereo-tracks only very slightly different : if you " remove center " from a few...

Re: Help identifying the cause of the "pop"
I think I did the Declicker wrong.... I figured out my mistake and the second go is a winner, or at least a runner up. At the time of this posting, I only made one pass with the first set of settings. The two different settings reduce two different types of noises : this one , (first set), removes ...

Re: Help identifying the cause of the "pop"
1. Should I apply Declicker to the whole file, or only where I hear a pop? Either way will work. If you're applying it manually, select a region of ~1/2 a second, with the pop in the middle. I used the settings in the first screen shot on a selected, small area where I knew there was a pop. The pop...

Re: Soft Blue Waveform Remastering Tools
... I tried with the compressor, Limiter even with the EQ and the only things that changes is the Dark Blue Peak outside ... Please help me, Give Me Ideas Thanks The light-blue area in Audacity waveform is the RMS amplitude , the dark-blue envelope is the peak amplitude. If you normalize based on R...

Re: Help identifying the cause of the "pop"
@ Trebor--I have just studied the page you posted on spectral selection. For right now, tedious as it is, it may be my only hope. There is a DeClicker plugin for Audacity here , it can automatically remove pop/click noises. However that DeClicker plugin is slow : it takes longer than playback time ...

Re: DeEsser Help!
Here it is ATTACHMENTS part.mp3 (391.86 KiB) That's got a lot of reverb on it. DeEssing should be applied to the dry-vocal : before any reverb has been added. Nevertheless here's my suggested SpitFish settings ... ''Stelios-SpitFish'' suggested settings.png Stelios-SpitFish.xml Optional: boost the ...

Re: DeEsser Help!
If you attach 10 seconds of sibilant audio to a post, I'll have a go with SpitFish to determine the settings.steliosgame wrote:I would appreciate if someone just takes the vocals and fixes this for me

Re: DeEsser Help!
I downloaded Spitfish and Tonmann DeEsser but I don't really know how to use them so I see no difference in the vocals. Tonmann DeEsser doesn't work in Audacity Audacity 2.1.3 in Windows Vista SpitFish does work ... Spitfish DeEsser in action in Audacity 2-1-3.gif http://manual.audacityteam.org/man...
