If you're happy using command-line interfaces, try SoX ... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SoX#External_linksPegasusRider wrote: ...If you are comfortable working with the command line, you can manually extract DTS audio on a per channel basis.

Re: DTS import question
If by apps you mean VST plugins, Audacity can only use 32-bit VST2 versions of plugins, even if your machine is 64-bit.PegasusRider wrote:... I use 64 bit apps whenever offered the option ...

Re: recording second track-- only records during quiet parts
I'm pretty sure Audacity isn't doing this... I second that. audacity screenshot 1.png "Part 1" is ducking/gating the second track in real-time. Audacity 2.0.6, recording through Audiobox iTwo thru Windows 10. The Audiobox device, which the microphone is plugged into, is also fed the sound...

Re: Echo On Playback Of Recordings
Another possibility is Windows "enhancements" that can screw-up the sound, but as far as I know that shouldn't add echo or reverb. There can be playback enhancements, which add a 3D pseudo-surround-sound effect, (like reverb). Again, as with the recording enhancements, can be switched off...

Re: change level ?
Can do that using the pan-slider and gain-slider ...rectek wrote:Question: Is there a way to increase the level of only the low channel, either during, or after, recording into Audacity?
then, once balanced, use mix and render to fix the changes.
