De-essing selectively reduces those.
There is an Audacity-specific De-esser plugin, but it's comparatively difficult to use,

Re: How to insert the Index Marks while recording in Audacit

1) what is the easiest way to skip forwards/backward etc to label 1 , then to label 2 locations. You can jump to last/next label using "Alt"+"←", "Alt"+"→" ... http://forum.audacityteam.org/download/file.php?id=18533 http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/label_t...

Re: How do get rid of the little scratching sound (volume)

If the scratching sound doesn't correspond with high-volume, i.e. it's random, then skipping is a possible explanation. http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/faq_recording_troubleshooting.html#How_can_I_record_without_small_skips_or_duplications.3F If it is skipping, turning the CPU-priority of Audacit...

Dynamics Processing Dynamic Mirror (dynamic-mirror.ny) download Author: Steve Dalton Is an envelope-follower : it applies the loudness- envelope of one track to the selected track(s) below it. Re: Envelope follower / ducker

In this version, if only one track is selected, the plug-in follows the amplitude of the selected track, and then applies that envelope to the same track NB: If repeat effect, ( "Ctrl"+"R" ), is used to repeatedly apply version-2 of dynamic-mirror to one track only, the effect b...

Re: How do get rid of the little scratching sound (volume)

... I've tried lowering the volume of the entire audio by clicking on the volume thing in the lefthand box of the soundtrack. That seems to help but it means lowering the volume of the entire track, which I don't want to do. If you just want to change the volume of parts of the recording, you can d...

The excessively sibilant frequencies, (6.5kHz -12kHz in this case), are used to duck.
