Re: Unstable pitch when recording acoustic guitar
Here is a WAV file of an example. The 'wobble' occurs at about 3.75 seconds. snip4.wav (621.04 KiB) I can hear the wobble & it's visible on the spectrogram ... wobble.png But I've never heard Audacity produce a fault like that. The only thing I can think of which could alter the pitch like that...

Re: Unstable pitch when recording acoustic guitar
I have recorded myself playing again and I still find little moments when the pitch wobbles. (It isn't my playing!) The artifact is in the recording as it can be heard at exactly the same moment again and again. If you attach a sample WAV file with a wobble, 5-10 seconds, that could give us a clue ...

Re: Noise Gate MIA?
So I've done that--I see the effect I want in the "new" category, I click "enable" and it still doesn't appear in the effects list ... I recently updated from 2.1 to 2.2.0 and the noisegate, de esser, and de clicker disappeared from the menu. And I've spent the better part of an...

Re: Unstable pitch when recording acoustic guitar
Try changing the Audacity project-rate from the default 44100Hz to 48000Hz , ( some recording devices will only work reliably if the Audacity project-rate matches their sample rate ). Could also try increasing Audacity CPU priority form "normal" to "Above Normal" : that lowers th...

Re: Guitar sounds odd on playback
... I’m going with Windows Enhancements. It hates music. +1 I have tried recording myself playing a Spanish classical guitar but the sound when I listen back is very odd. It sounds distorted as if recorded in a long tube... The odd thing is, I have recordings of myself playing duets from a few year...

Re: Audio plays in VLC but is blank when importing
My friends (who are using Mac and Windows) have the same issue with the recording, so I assume it's something to do with the audio file itself. Does anyone know why this is and how I can fix this? We have used the recording device multiple times before and each time the recording has worked and is ...

Re: New version does not automatcally scroll left and/or rig
On the old version of Audacity, when I wanted to select big portion of an audio file, I could click on where I wanted to start and then hold the mouse down and when I hit the end of the window ... You have to hold down the "Ctrl" key whilst using the scroll-wheel on the mouse to zoom in/o...
