Re: How to Remaster old Tracks?

im trying to improve quality of one old live show recording and i need some help and advice ... https://drive.google.com/file/d/1jlh1bBR42BLQVBhnXjVVWNuiwElAXA7K/view?usp=drivesdk It's a bit warped in places, (tape ?), that's not curable in Audacity. Can reduce-hiss, equalize, and fake-stereo in Au...

Re: 2.2.1 Install corrupted toolbar and preferences

I'm thinking of INSTALLING 2.2.1 over top (update 2.1.3) but not if the toolbar will be truncated. The toolbar is not truncated in 2.2.1. If you must have 2.1.3, reinstall it via exe file, (not zip file), and choose " reset preferences " when Audacity is first run. That will fix the trunc...

You may have clicked on the clock-icon by accident.

Re: Generating violet noise

Before you do RMS normalize , maybe remove everything below 30Hz and above 20kHz, if your project relates to human hearing. Generate will produce frequencies outwith that range which no-one can hear, but they will effect the result of RMS normalize if you don't remove them. 30Hz-20kHz.png 30Hz-20kHz...

Re: Generating violet noise

So for me, it seems like the loudest frequency of the violet noise is at ca. 22 kHz with -27dB. For the brown noise it seems like the loudest frequency is at 0 Hz but with only -14dB. If you amplify that brown noise by -13dB, it too will have a maximum value of -27dB The brown and violet noise shou...

ATTACHMENTS sample.static.wav (952.04 KiB) Sorry, even my paid-for de-clicker program can't fix that. ...when I got to noise reduction it froze on me ... when I came to open my .aup file (assumed it just saved whatever I last saved) Whatever caused the Audacity to freeze may have corrupted the Auda...

".aup" files don't contain audio. You need to attach a short WAV file instead.
