Re: cutting and saving
Select the section you want to delete, then hit the delete key, (or "Ctrl"+"X" keys).ilovemy5children2 wrote: I downloaded the program and imported the song. I have no idea what to do after that.
I need to cut the beginning and one chorus to make it work.
Re: Beginner
It works kinda but when I record something playback is really fast. Setting the Audacity project-rate (bottom left corner) to 48000Hz, rather than the default 44100Hz, is worth a try, before making new recordings. If that doesn't work I'd try Audacity's free competitor OCENaudio which is aimed at b...

Re: What configuration can achieve this audio quality?
The vocal is mono, with a mono reverb, (as opposed to stereo reverb).gwsk wrote:I was listening to a song the other day https://youtu.be/I2qVJlsJc9o?t=65 and the voice quality is kinda different
So different from modern pop music which often uses stereo-effects on vocals.

When i record my voice by itself without an imported file, it sounds fine. But when i import a file and record on top of that, the vocals go in and out, sounds staticy... When combining two tracks you may have to turn the gain-slider https://manual.audacityteam.org/m/images/f/f9/track_gain_slider.p...

Re: How do I add a silence of (X time) when combining tracks
Could add 1.5 seconds of silence to all the tracks in one step, (once they are imported),
Then align end to end. Thus avoiding 20 usages of time-shift to create the silent gaps.

Now when the vertical bar sweeps across to the rhs of the display it disappears off the rhs of the screen and I can no longer monitor the recording levels - I have to grab the moving bar at the bottom of the screen and 'yank' the display towards the lhs side of the screen to see where I am in real ...
