Re: Sticky Amplify
I had occasion to use Amplify a bunch of times at the same setting. Amplify settings aren't sticky. On Windows, Audacity 2.2.1, (and previous versions), "Ctrl"+"R" will repeatedly apply Amplify with the same gain setting. You'll have to remember what that setting was, as if you ...

Re: Meeting ACX Requirements w/ Audacity
Thanks to the above instructions, I was able to normalize the audio to the ACX requirements. Now I would like to invite the help of experts to listen to my sample and tell me if the audio quality is good for audible? Looks/sounds like you've used a noise-gate , but the reaction-time is too slow it'...

Re: Noise logging?
Can Audacity be used as a noise logger? Eg set up microphone overnight and log noise (cars, animals etc). I expect the file size to be huge which is disadvantage. Audacity always records everything at 32 bit depth, so recording overnight is going to use ~500Mb/~0.5Gb, (mono, not stereo). A voice-re...

Re: hum
success...i got it...i` m still getting too much background noise but this will help...should I adjust the settings and experiment ? The Mosquito & De-hum plugins don't reduce hiss-type noise. You need noise reduction for that. I used to use some kind of homegrown auto-tune deal here which alth...
Re: hum
I think I don`t need to download anything from Source Forge or Nyquest ? The Nyquist interpreter is built-in to Audacity. The only thing you need to add are the plug-in files, (which end in ".ny"). When go from C/users/Doug I don`t see a folder named App/Data. "AppData" is a hid...

Re: Noise reduction tool settings question
... It rather sounds like a jackhammer or machine gun going off ....but as I said..just a few seconds here and there. On audacity the blue lines shoot from bottom to top until it passes ... Rather than using noise reduction, (which will not remove gunshots), could momentarily turn down the volume u...
