but when I play what I recorded I've noticed the audio will give out on occasion. Never for long but it happens in the middle of words and it messes up the whole recording and I've tried to fix it buy lowering the sample rate etc etc but nothing works. Sounds like skipping . Only some (older) types of VST plugin will work in Audacity, e.g. VST2.
VSTi & VST3 don't work in Audacity.
