Re: I want to start recording on Sat/ 6am and Sun/9am.
I did this 3 years ago using Microsoft Task Scheduler. Someone here showed how to do it ... I would appreciate it if someone can help me get it going again. Your old posts on this subject, (mostly from 2014), can be seen via this link ... http://forum.audacityteam.org/search.php?st=0&sk=t&s...

Re: Setting a fixed scale for frequency analysis
...there is a slimy way to get around this. Include a blast of 1KHz tone at -1dB at the beginning or the end of the show. Surely you'd be better with something inaudible, say 19kHz, then you can crop it out of far right of the spectrogram. 1kHz sine at -1dB will be a big spike in the middle of the ...

Re: Apply EQ Only Above a Specified Volume Level
Is this another free plugin for Audacity? Yes GMulti is free*, you install it into Audacity the same as SpitFish. [ * strictly speaking it's donation-ware ] If I used GMulti to compress high frequencies, would it have a noticeable effect, a negative one, in the passages that were less than loud? Yo...

Re: Apply EQ Only Above a Specified Volume Level
Perhaps some noise reduction ... was used and it had this effect. I think you're right there, ( the YouTube transcoding doesn't help either). Fortunately, I did find this plugin, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4UkcDL7NkZg It's a sibilant surpressor. SpitFish can only go down to 4000Hz, that's not ...

Here's a free spectrogram-plugin which works in Audacity in Windows (& Mac),

Re: DeBreath in Audacity : proof of concept
It might be interesting to compare how well this technique works with and without the DtBlkFx processing. The DtBlkFx processing is essential : it emphasizes the non-harmonic sounds, (hissy noises). DtBlkFx is essential to isolate inhalation sounds.gif Equalization alone is not sufficient to isolat...

Re: Applying TSE BOD plugin settings to a track
On default settings the BOD plugin sounds OK in preview, but when applied mangles the sound: when replaying the effected audio with BOD disabled or closed it's still glitchy. Apparently BOD applies ridiculously-high resampling, (pointless on a distortion effect), which may be responsible for the gli...

Re: Apply EQ Only Above a Specified Volume Level
Is it possible to apply an affect, specifically EQ, only to a passage above a certain volume level? You can compress certain frequency-bands, so the peak-loudness in those bands is less as a consequence. The tool for that is a multi-band compressor plugin, e.g. GMulti . ... There's something happen...

You've accidentally selected multi-tool ...hedera wrote:... the tracks in my window show as a lighter stream in a darker window frame ...
I also now have an additional grid at either end of each track, that wasn't there before.
What did I do? Why did this change?
