I have a recording of my Acapella quartet performing in a church. The recording was made for a local radio station, using a fairly small (but I would guess sophisticated) hand held Sony device and the pure acoustics of the building. We were not amplified in any way. The music sounds a bit 'thin' .....

No formula , just trial & error : applying the Paul-L's DeEsser once, but at lower thresholds : -30, -31, -32 ...

I'm pretty sure I don't have the sensitivity to these frequencies to make a good assessment. So I tried -28 in audio-excerpt1, and -29 in audio-excerpt2 attached. Audacity peut étirer le temps (flou temporel): il s'appelle "Paul Stretch" dans les effets Audacity
La réverbération a également été utilisée, également dans les effets Audacity.

Does "lower the threshold" mean lowering the threshold setting from -26 dB in your previous post to -27 or -28, as the only setting to change? Yes : try -27, -28, -29 ... until the sibilance is not intrusively loud. ... only setting to change? Note the upper frequency threshold is 10000Hz...

There is a free plugin called tdr-nova which can apply steep high & low pass filters in real-time ...
