Re: spectrogram settings

The Spectrogram setting facility doesn't seem to be active in this version Can anyone help. "spectrogram settings" option in the menu is greyed-out until you change from"waveform" to "spectrogram" display. Only once you've selected spectrogram can you see/change the sp...

Re: Removing hum from audio

... I think a new camera will pick up the hum of the vent system too, not share how loud until I actually invest 300 or more for a new camera. Official concert-footage usually has audio direct from the performer(s) microphones. No camera-microphone is capable of replicating that, even if you're in ...

Re: Removing hum from audio

... During the video, after the 43 second mark, you can hear a slight hum. Which is the vent work. Is there a way to completely take that off the audio track ... If you turn-up Audacity's spectrogram to the maximum-resolution, you can see the constant sounds from the fan/motor. You can then manuall...

Re: Total Audacity noob here

I/my bro will be making the buy next week. I'll certainly write about it and immediately post some samples for y'all to rip apart. :D It's possible to rent Zoom recorders : $10 to $30 per day. BTW I would always use a foam-cover if it's within spitting-distance. The brand-name ones are expensive fo...

That's usually the hallmark of Windows (not Audacity) "enhancements" : noise-reduction , echo-suppression.
You need to turn off all such enhancements if you're recording music.

Re: Volume changes when loading files

I've been using Audacity for several years, and never ran into this issue. When I download an audio file to the ACX format, it tends to alter the volume of all the other files previously downloaded. Windows (not Audacity) has a feature which automatically turns down the volume if it "thinks&qu...

Re: Using multiple vst effects at the same time?

I use Audacity to record my bands demos. This time around, I have multiple vst plugins (guitar amps and pedals). I was curious if it is possible to use multiple effects at once. There are free standalone VST hosts where you can chain multiple VST effects, then record the output of that host with Au...
