Re: recording without room ambiance

Is Audacity recording directly from the track that is playing or is it recording via the mic which is picking up the sound from the built-in speaker? In an ear...

Re: Help request
I am able to pass the ACX check plugin on Audacity. However there is a very audible hissing sound. I can remove this with Noise Reduction, but it takes a couple of times, and I worry that that will cause an 'over processing' fail with QA. In the raw, unedited WAV I've attached, I am failing to meet...

... vocal remover = (did remove drum on different version of audacity, but now does not). Select "remove center" rather than "vocal remover", as the latter does not act on bass frequencies below 120Hz. Even then that removal technique only works on certain pieces of music: it de...

Re: Total Audacity noob here
https://www.fakespot.com/product/zoom-h4n-pro-digital-multitrack-recorder-2016-version There *is* a massive spike in the review count from what looks like late December 2017 to about February 2018. Not sure what this means. The spike (& preceding price-dip) around that time is explainable as Bl...

Re: Removing hum from audio
I can not figure how to do the below: To define a time range change the track to Spectrogram view, hover at a vertical position that you want to be the approximate center frequency to act on then click and drag a selection horizontally. A horizontal line appears beside the I-Beam mouse pointer that...

Re: Do we "own" our work?
It's about selling reproduction-rights. Contract may say "exclusive" or "all rights", then you can't sell it to anyone else, or use it for any other purpose, unless you first clear that additional use with the client who bought it. Can sell non-exclusive rights: you can sell exac...

Re: How do I make both channels same volume?
Steve's RMS-normalize plugin has the option of (RMS) normalizing stereo-channels independently ...
In that case no need to split the stereo-pair and apply the tool twice.
