Zooming-in on the vertical axis makes it "look louder",
(not actually louder though, you need amplify or normalize to make it louder ).

I have a TC electronics RH750 amp which has a digital out socket. What cable will I need to record on to Audacity, I have downloaded the Mp3 track to Audacity. My laptop is a HP Pavillion running Windows 10. Will I need to plug in to a USB socket or Mic/Headphone socket on laptop. Any other advice ...

You can get artificially low numbers by adding Generate Silence anywhere in the piece since all ACX Check does is look for half-second of the quietest work... If that's the algorithm, it would be better to have it ignore any sections which contain true flat-line silence. Some sort of average of all...

That it's processing the whole track/project, (which takes a long time), when you mistakenly think it's processing a short selection.

[ Older versions of Audacity did automatically apply an effect to all of the project if no track selection was made].

I've found Audacity's ACX-tool gives a bogus low-measure for noise-floor if the selected audio contains any true flat-line silence. One second of flat-line silence added to one minute of audio lowers its noise-floor by 100dB ! ... ACX tool gives false low reading for noise floor if there is true sil...
