Re: Recording audio of "noise"

I'll try the contact mic idea that trebor suggested, but I'm not sure if that would be the same. Perhaps I could attach a lapel mic near a wheel and just turn the sensitivity on the mic down? Would that achieve a similar effect? There are cheap ($5-$10) clip-on contact mics for guitars. They're des...

Re: Various Metallic Tinning or Mic Pings

So everything sounds great, but after I have exported and listen on my phone with EAR BUDS-ONLY I hear a variable tinning/metallic sound. You don't say what format you've exported to, If you've used MP3 format it can add compression-artifacts, those can be metallic-sounding. MP3 has a quality-setti...

I'm working on a project where I need to record samples of what certain rolling wheels sound like when they roll across different ground surfaces.

Re: Can Audacity match the recording quality from different microphones?

What can I do to make the "Raw Source" file sound in quality of the "Target Quality" file on audacity? It sounds like a phone call recording and a bit muted. One can degrade sound so it sounds like Skype, (Skype-ify). However one cannot un-Skype : cannot undo the compression-art...

Re: This doesn't look right... help!

The Cat - Audacity reading.wav (1.35 MiB) ... As requested, no effects or alterations were done to this recording... It sounds good, for most purposes, excellent. But ... I can hear a motor/fan on "can opener". I'm not imagining it : if an extreme degree of compression is applied the moto...

I can hear what sounds like parents talking to a pre-school child, but it's generally incomprehensible.

Re: How do I change the formants of my voice separately from the pitch?

i'm trying to put RoVee on the Audacity on another computer in my house (same operating system), but it doesn't have any folders underneath the "Audacity" folder. How do I put it into Audacity? The current version of Audacity has plugins within a hidden-folder called AppData ... Users\<us...

Re: Chorus Director now too loud

The Zoom records a 45 degree fan in front of the recorder. Zoon H4N pro only offers 90 or 120 degree fan ... X/Y stereo recording covers a wide area while capturing sound sources in the center with clarity and definition. The angle of its two unidirectional condenser mics can easily be changed from...
