Re: [2.3.0] What does this mouse cursor mean?
I can't figure out what it is, and how to get back to normal. The work-around is to save the project, and restart Audacity. What does that cursor mean? It's the envelope tool . You can return to the default cursor by clicking on the button that looks like a capital "I" ... https://ttmanua...

Re: Disable automatic low pass filter when resampling
By changing the track sample rate (from the track's drop down menu) to 8000 Hz, the samples are then correctly spaced out at intervals of 1/8000 second, and the track will play at the correct speed. OK but that plays it at the correct speed, but it has nothing above 4kHz. It doesn't have the high-f...

Re: Clicks are driving me nuts!
The clicks are not digital in origin, but human, IMO.
Audacity's De-Clicker plugin gets rid of them ...
[ Store-bought de-clicker plugins are quicker ].

Re: Disable automatic low pass filter when resampling
Tritik Krush does also downsampling as well as bitcrush.8bit_coder wrote: ↑Sat Jun 08, 2019 3:54 amTo the Trikit solution:
Yes, I know I can use a bit crusher, but that defeats the whole purpose of being able to set a specific sample rate.
dBlue crusher is a free plugin which has a downsample slider, independent of bitcrush.

There are other free & commercial audio editor software ...
https ://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_digital_audio_editors
OCENaudio is free, available as 64-bit, but not as powerful as Audacity.
IMO OCENaudio is worth having as a plan-B.

Re: Solution to plugin nightmare?
Is there a solid solution to this, or do I need to play games with using different versions of Audacity to do things, and moving and tweaking copies of pluginregistry.cfg to keep the programs happy? There are two plugin ".cfg" files which are worth renaming* with the suffix "-old&quo...

e.g. with free plugins like DBlueCrush or MDA Degrade

Re: Effective differeence between Amplify filter and Gain control in track label
Track gain has the advantage that it can be adjusted in real-time: as the track is playing,
(which is not the case with amplify).
Amplify can be applied to multiple tracks at once, whereas track gain is a per-track.
