Apparently YouTube transcodes 48kHz sample-rate to 44.1kHz

Odds are you can't hear above 16kHz anyway, so you're not losing out.
The signal above 16kHz could just be artefact noises.

Re: laptop recording with laptop
If it's a modern computer the headphone socket is also the mic socket.*******@gmail.com wrote: ↑Tue Sep 17, 2019 8:42 pmI am using windows 10 on a dell laptop. Thus laptop has no physical input for a microphone ...
You may need an adapter/splitter (<$10) to connect your microphone to that socket ...

Re: Why does the volume suddenly jump to 100% when editing my music on Audacity?
I have Windows 10 Home and the 2.2.2 version of Audacity. I am wondering why the volume suddenly and randomly jumps to 100% on my speakers that are connected to my laptop while I am editing my music on Audacity? ... Windows audio does have a playback-enhancement called "loudness equalization&q...

Re: Newbie question: how to trim high/loud sound on entire clip at once?
There are just some parts of the audio where the presenter sort of 'cackles' (laughs) and it’s a painful-to-hear sound ... What I am looking for is a broad brushstroke of an 'Effect' or Setting that will trim (lower) those extreme sounds down ... Can anyone point me in a direction to go on this? If...

Re: Please check sound quality and advise
@Trebor ... how do you find the frequency of the noise, in this case 8.6khz? Audacity can display sound as a waveform, (the default setting), or as a spectrogram which shows the frequency content in a multi-color display. The constant-noise appears as a continuous horizontal band on the spectrogram...

Re: How to create realistic AM bandwith radio effect
Where the signal grows weaker, the static grows stronger, that's just how it works. So missing portions of the spectrogram will have static instead, where the signal is weaker in spectrogram, there will be stronger static. Audacity can do that: cyclically cross-fade signal with noise with this plug...

Re: Please check sound quality and advise
Could you please open the project in Audacity and tell me what settings you would chose to eliminate static... There is a constant cicada-like* noise at about 8.6kHz, which can be reduced with a notch-filter ... zoumerela, before-after notch filter.png zoumerela, before-after notch filter.flac [ * ...
