Re: How do I get rid of the hiss in my recording

SampleVoice-Audacity-2.3.3-Without-NoiseGator.wav (1.51 MiB) That's a stereo recording: the channels are different. They should be identical: dual-mono. (If you invert one of the channels & mix to mono the buzz disappears). 1. The same microphone (Xcess) records fine on my other laptop (HP Pavi...

Re: Isolation of individual voices on acapella recording

Is it at least possible to diminish the volume of the lead voice only? I've been working on a transcription of Rockapella's arrangement of "Oh, Pretty Woman" for almost a week, and although I'm almost done, I can't discern the lyrics of the backup vocals in certain spots to save my life ....

Re: Spikes when recording from LP records/albums

Can anyone tell me how filter out amplitude spikes when recording from LP records/albums? These are caused by scratches or dust particles on the LP. I can't see anything relevant in the Audacity Manual (under Effects or Tools). Paul-L's de-click plugin for Audcaity (free) can also de-crackle, see ....

Would that get rid of any sort of reverbing echoes as well?
That Hornet31 plugin won't reduce reverb.
There are De-reverb plugins, but they are expensive & IMO only useful to dry up slight reverb.

have the option to save as "64 bit float" (AIFF) ...

I just want a copy of what is on the vinyl ...
64-bit is overkill: 16-bit will cover the dynamic-range of vinyl.

Would it be possible to place selected generated sound with the mouse click on the timeline?
And that it snaps to certain point...
Can copy & paste, just like a word-processor, ctrl+c. ctrl+v

ctrl+alt+x (split cut) does something very similar & can be done with one hand.
