Re: Noise floor pass/fail/pass/pass
Is this the right way with the logo now with it being up at forehead angle? Facing down towards my lap? The "Blue" logo should be facing you directly, not pointing downwards, (or in any other direction). Also the Yeti mic body should be close to vertical, but upside-down is OK ... blue-ye...

Re: Noise floor pass/fail/pass/pass
Both of your last two tests (982.73 KiB) & (967.73 KiB) sound very boxy to me. The mic is the wrong way round on your desk ... https://forum.audacityteam.org/download/file.php?id=25794 If you still have it that way you need to turn it so the "Blue" logo is facing you. [ See this Blue Y...

Re: Noise floor pass/fail/pass/pass
Ok and this is at the forehead, with pop filter. After I saved it raw for you guys here, I performed the 3 steps and got it to pass ACX but just curious if it's no longer boxy and buzzy? audacity sample.wav (865.04 KiB) That test (865.04 KiB) sounds very poor: boxy (not buzzy). Your previous test a...

Re: Noise floor pass/fail/pass/pass
Ok, so this was holding it, nothing special no pop filter etc. I'm going to guess that forehead placement is best by the looks of the waves on the screens? Your test (1.56 MiB) confirms that having the mic close to monitor screens causing the boxy problem. "six inches from the monitors" i...

Re: Noise floor pass/fail/pass/pass
So I don’t really have a way to do the new microphone position (at the forehead) unless maybe I can go buy some blocks of foam and stack them higher than my head and do it that way. mic boom arms can be had for $25 new ... https://www.amazon.com/s?k="microphone+stand"+tripod+"boom+ar...

Re: High-end Distortion when played through TV speakers!!
Please could you give me a little help on how I go about getting rid of all these artefacts that you say are above 13 kHz using the equaliser tool. remove above 13kHz demo.gif https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/filter_curve.html It's possible the >13kHz artefacts may not be the problem you're hear...

Re: Noise floor pass/fail/pass/pass
Or were you saying that my first sample didn’t sound like I was in a box but the second one did? They were both recorded in the same exact space. Your " audacity sample.wav (862.04 KiB) " does sound very different from your " audacity sample.wav (843.17 KiB) ", as if they are di...

Re: Noise floor pass/fail/pass/pass
audacity sample.wav 843.17 KiB sounds like you're in a box. audacity sample.wav 862.04 KiB does not have the boxy sound. The boxiness is visible on the spectrogram as continuous horizontal grooves where sound has disappeared due to destructive interference at certain frequencies. Upper spectrogram ...
