Re: Meeting ACX Check makes my audio sound overdriven

I am hoping the problem is room noise I can dampen. The constant rain-like hiss is generated by electronics, it's not noise in the room. All electronics generate it to some degree, but in your case it's conspicuously loud. ... what causes the unbalanced voice curves? https ://www .soundonsound.com/...

Re: Audio help. Adjusting sound levels of each of two imported mp3 individually?

I ended up opening two audacity windows (if there is a much faster way let me know as well please?). One Audacity Window with six tracks is the way to do that . You can copy & paste the content of the different Audacity windows in one window then move the tracks where you want them with the tim...

Re: Did I just waste money on a VST Plugin ?

"X86" =32-bit . There's usually the option to try-before-you-buy with plug-ins, to check they work for you before parting with money. If your Windows computer has a 64-bit Operating System it can run both 32-bit and 64-bit software. But a 64-bit version of Audacity is not yet available fo...

Yes it is possible to transcode lower bit-rate to higher, but in-practice the result will sound lower quality than the original. So if you are transcoding mp3 use the highest mp3 rate : 320kbps to minimise generation loss ... mp3 export option CBR 320kbps .png https ://manual.audacityteam.org/man/ m...

Re: High-end Distortion when played through TV speakers!!

... I sort of need a one size fits all approach to this ... Audacity is capable of batch-processing, see ... https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/macros.html BTW the sample you submitted covers the Full Scale : +/-1.0 ... no safety margin (no headroom).png If it at some point it crossed the +/-1.0 l...

Re: Noise floor pass/fail/pass/pass

... I'm attaching a new sample untouched, can you tell me how I'm sounding now? Am I getting there? Attachments audacity sample.wav (962.35 KiB) The good news ... No boxyness, negligible mains hum/buzz. The bad news ... The level on seems low, (lower than your other recordings). Amplifying low-leve...

That's one of the Amazon packages for $34 USD. By my guess, the boom mount and accessories in that picture cost more than $34, so the microphone was free. I think you got the best performance this microphone can deliver. They've got the cheek to call it " Professional ... Studio ... Mic "...

Here is the ACX Check - Passed Noise Reduction, Filter Curve, RMS, Limiter sample https://www.dropbox.com/s/21ry6q4sg1vwtlq/ACXPass-Sample-FCL.wav?dl=0 I think you've used the limiter on "hard-clip" setting, when it should be on "soft limit". Hard-clip looks & sounds like ov...
