Re: leveling voices
What is the recommended method - in addition to manually adjusting the voice levels - for creating a nice, even sound among all voices? I know leveler is available with a little digging, but I'm interested in other ideas and I want to avoid any distortion... LevelSpeech2.ny , (old school "leve...

Re: AUDACITY and Compander DBX 124 emulation
dbx is a proprietary noise reduction system, and while some details are available, not enough details are available in the public domain to be able to reproduce the effect exactly (and an exact copy of the dbx decoder would probably infringe their patents). Coincidentally the patent expires today ....

Re: Will Psycho Toolkit by Clone Ensemble work on Audacity 2.3.1
... I got burned when I spent money on a Waves Plugin that doesn't work. The recent Waves plugins are 64-bit so are currently not going to work on Audacity on Windows. Old Waves 32-bit plugis may work in Audcaity, I think waves do a fully-functional but time-limited (7 days?) free demo versions. .....

Re: Why is the Nyquist plug-in SETrms not working?
Some text-editors can add/change invisible characters which prevents Nyquist code from being executed.juliatheswede wrote: ↑Mon Jan 27, 2020 4:33 pmI managed to paste it in the Nyquist prompt window ... So it should work right, but it doesn't.
Can someone please tell me why it's not working?

The more recent RMS normalize plugin does the same thing.juliatheswede wrote: ↑Mon Jan 27, 2020 4:33 pmAudacity forum guru "Koz" has written a little routine that will set the "RMS" (basically the average volume) of your track to the correct level for ACX requirements.

Re: Looking for advice on my recording quality, Behringer mixer and mic
I still feel like there is a discernable hum sound after doing the noise removal, etc. I'm wondering if anyone can give other advice on how, or if I should remove it. This is clean, unprocessed work.
