I figured out how to do this manually by re-importing the MP3 ... When you convert to mp3 unavoidably about 100ms is added to the start, that's enough knock-out lip-sync. It's either avoid getting clipping by leaving headroom.
Or repair clipping after recording.
(The former is much better than the latter)
