Re: How to be sure project is saved?

Thank you for your helpful additional information. Your tip about making additional, sequential saves of the complete project is particularly apt. I should have thought of that without having to make additional inquiry to you. I have plenty of space... and I can grab a cup of coffee while the new pr...

Re: How to be sure project is saved?

Thank you. A few follow-up questions... 1) Is it possible to somehow load the orphan files, so I can listen to them to (hopefully) determine whether they are scraps from the "cutting room floor" (for example, snippets of applause, silence between pieces, extemporaneous conductor speaking, etc.), or ...

Re: How to be sure project is saved?

Audacity is considering offering a project format in one file that doesn't break. Koz :D DG P.S. While I'm at it, might as well also include a suggestion that I have thought desirable, for many years. Of course, others may not feel so inclined. How about removing the self-reference to file names (i...

Re: How to be sure project is saved?

when I bought some new gear. Whose name and model numbers are? This is a constant and historic problem with people doing wild, live recording. It's generally not the digital file structure that causes problems. The analog part of the system has very strict limits and that's what usually creates dis...

Re: How to be sure project is saved?

I'd recommend exporting to WAV whether you make an AUP project or not. That's how I do it. That doesn't work with muli-track shows. There is no multi-track WAV. You can also Save a Lossless Project . That produces a regular Audacity project with additional super-high quality sound files for each tr...

Re: How to be sure project is saved?

"Because if you try to exit/close Audacity with an unsaved project (technically a "dirty" project) Audacity will warn you and ask if you want to save it before exiting." This would be great, but I never experienced it. But, I have had orphaned files twice with this current project. I mean, everythin...

Re: How to be sure project is saved?

I'm really not trying to be obnoxious... I would just like to know if there is a way to know when it is safe to exit, after clicking "Save Project".

How does one know?

Thank you.

How to be sure project is saved?

Sir: Audacity 2.3.3 Windows 7 I find it very frustrating to get those "orphan block" messages upon opening a project that I am working on. I lose a tremendous amount of time with these things. I suspect it happens because, at the end of a session, I usually click on Save Project, and then Exit. But,...

Mix & Render Only Selected Region of Multiple Tracks?

Windows 7
Audacity 2.2.0

I have several synced stereo tracks. I would like to select a region in three of those tracks; and then mix & render to a new track only the selected portions of the three tracks. Is there a way to do this?

Thank you.

Re: Precise Control Points?

Permit me to expand, just a little. It would be convenient to be able to add control points at label points. For example, set labels to define exactly a segment of interest. Then, be able to add control points at those exact times. Then, be able to adjust amplitude, precisely, and without affecting ...
