Re: How to get specific envelopes w/Envelope Tool?

I've started to use "plan B". I've carefully put labels at the places I want to change levels (either suddenly, or gradually by using Adjustable Fade). BTW, I'm doing this with spot mics from piano, xylophone, and other instruments in a wind ensemble that can use a little help in reinforcing them so...

Re: How to get specific envelopes w/Envelope Tool?

Well, that didn't take too long. I could be misunderstanding big time, but, it appears that the macro ability is for menu items, and not "Tools" themselves. Since envelopes and control points are set by direct use of the cursor, and not by menu selections, I'm thinking that Macros just don't apply t...

Re: How to get specific envelopes w/Envelope Tool?

I did some more searching, and saw that macros can be created in Audacity.

I need to learn about this capability. Maybe it is the answer to what I would like to do.

Re: How to get specific envelopes w/Envelope Tool?

Thank you, Trebor. I do that-- it's the only way I view my waveforms. But, you have to eyeball and guestimate... I think. Is there a readout somewhere that displays the dB level as you move the control point up and down? If not, then, it seems to me that you have to eyeball the vertical scale. That ...

How to get specific envelopes w/Envelope Tool?

I would like to create a specific amplification profile for a track, but don't know how to do it. I have an audio track. I would like to specify certain points along the track for certain levels (or, more precisely, certain changes in levels). For example, I would like to start at the current level....

Re: How to be sure project is saved?

I don't know of any other program that makes a storage system manage thousands of individual, tiny files in sequence like this. Despite the drawbacks, it is an (almost) unique stroke of genius. It's because of the thousands of individual "blockfiles" that you can delete or modify a couple of second...

Do you have any idea how hard it is to buy tin foil these days? If you try it on-line you get not so subtly redirected.

Tin Foil > > > Reynolds Wrap Heavy Duty Aluminum Foil.

Aluminum foil is not nearly so good with the, you know, rays.

Re: How to be sure project is saved?

Thank you.

I tried it, but got error messages from foobar200.

It's OK, I just started over.

Thank you for your help.

Re: How to be sure project is saved?

"The orphan files are ".au" files in the "_data" folder. They are usually playable in Windows Media Player." I tried to play the orphan .au files with Windows Media Player. I got this error message: "Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not s...
