Fantastic! Thanks for this!
It's now taken my recordings down to a 10th of the size!
Brilliant!
Thanks again

Getting the recorded WAV file as small as possible
Hi, We're using Audacity 1.3 beta to record talks given during meetings and each one lasts between 30 - 60 minutes. What settings should I be using to capture the audio recording in mono at a reasonable quality but have the file size lower than we're getting at the moment. Currently a 40 minute talk...

Re: Audacity Crashed - recovered manually
So you're saying that the software doesn't crash as much in 1.3?
and.....
In 1.3 if it does crash the system will recover the files on the next start rather than having to use the recovery application?
Thanks

Re: Audacity Crashed - recovered manually
Brilliant!
That's great! Thanks!
I'm sorry for the confusion - I don't ever remember saying that I had a mac just asking is there a version for PC?
Well I'm up and running now and I guess that's a whole day's time saved by this genius program!
Thanks again!

Re: Audacity Crashed - recovered manually
You have to use the correct version of Audacity Recovery Utility for Mac, according to whether you have an Intel Mac, or an older PPC one (like a G4).
Thanks Gale but as I said I've only got a PC and not a mac.

Re: Audacity Crashed - recovered manually
Hi,
It looks to me like there's only a way to import the files all at the same time using a mac with the correct utility? Is this correct?
Is there a way I can take the 241 items and put them back together using my PC and Audacity rather than having cut and paste them one by one?
Thanks

Re: Audacity Crashed - recovered manually
Hi,
I've got a 30 minute recording which crashed.
I've found the files which have been generated which consists of 241 short tracks.
Is there a way to put these back together quickly rather than having to inport them all one by one into Audacity? Surely there is?
Thanks
