Audacity works fine, but I have no sound for other programs/Internet now. Have downloaded and installed two updates. 1.2.6 first but no help, then 1.3.6 beta. Other suggestions?

Was able to download 1.2.6 from Cnet and 1.3.6 from downloadsquad. Installed both. Still no sound on Windows. Can anyone help?

I followed the links to download 1.3.6 and then 1.2.6. Each time I was directed to a page that offered only AVS Audio Editor. I downloaded and installed, but it didn't fix the problem. Suggestions?
