Thanks for the explanation Gale :) Yes I did download the minimal tarball - I was aware that it's primarily meant for linux, but I was hoping to be able to tweak my way through it anyway. I had the same error, and fixed it. But it's not the same error as this article originally described. I'm compiling Audacity 2.0.3 on Windows XP - the Unicode release version.
