usb mic recognised but still getting input error message
i've just got a new usb mic having given up on my last set of equipment. i'm getting the 'input device settings and project sample rate' error message when i hit record. however, audacity /windows IS recognising my new mic. i've tried all the combinations of sample rate, and followed the help steps ...

i tried all those things and none of them worked, it isn't being recognised at all due to the constant and inexplicable flicking between usb and MIDI.
I have concluded that it is the illuminati, messing with all my stuff again.

Audacity > Edit > Preference > Devices > Recording > Device Is that pointing toward your recorder? nope. not devices found Just to do it, unplug the recorder and close Audacity. Restart the machine, plug in the recorder when the machine becomes stable and then start Audacity. In exactly that order. ...
