Hi, I'm working on a MacBook Pro, 10.6.8, with 8Gb RAM, and plenty of disk space. Audacity successfully reads in 8-channel WAVE files, and its current defaults sets channel 1 to "left", channel 2 to "right" and the rest of the channels to "Mono".
