Thanks. I listen to stuff from my speakers, but I was always recording with "stereo mix." For some reason, I had to put the levels of Stereo Mix down to 20 out of a possible 100, and it matches the normal volume of my speakers/headphones. Dunno how that ever got changed to begin with, but ...

Whenever I record whatever's coming out of my speaker, Audacity records at around twice the volume of the original source. It didn't do this when I first installed it. I tried the stable release as well, and it does the same thing.
