Exported my project. Listened in Media Player, WTF?
I've just finished and exported my Audacity project as a stereo WAV. Not MP3. Not yet anyway. Using Audacity 2.0.2 on Windows 7. What the hey? It sounds VERY different in Windows Media Player. Right this second I have both Audacity open with the final mixdown, and WMP open to listen to the WAV I exp...

I think the "magic" you're missing is stereo Messing with Anwida right now. The "magic" I'm looking for is one of those I'll-know-it-when-I-hear-it things. It may not be in the reverb. Stereo helps, but what I'm hoping for may not be in the verb. The more I work, the more I realize that I want a su...

Re: Tips on "gluing" tracks together by applying the same re
The most common mistake that people make with reverb is to use too much of it. Indeed. I find myself wanting an effected sound for my project, but I actually don't. I want the vocal (hell of a lot more like a podcast voiceover) to "pop" from the backing track and be very, well, legible, but that's ...

Tips on "gluing" tracks together by applying the same reverb
Hi all. Well, I'm done with the editing on my project, and now for the sweet sweet candy of applying effects. What I'd like to do is basically run all the tracks (spoken word poetry plus backing track) through the same reverb, adding just a touch of verb to the backing track and maybe a bit more (or...

Re: How do I paste into tracks without moving everything?
Probably the best and easiest option is to put the new 5 seconds of audio onto a separate track below the original track] I've actually taken to doing pretty much this. So yes, that works, but all the extra tracks tend to crowd the workspace. Well, it's good to at least know that this is a quirk th...

How do I paste into tracks without moving everything?
Say I have a track that is silence until the 2 minute mark, where I have pasted in several clips of audio. I don't mean recorded silence, I mean New Track silence, no data. Suddenly I want to paste in a 5 second audio clip at the 30 seconds mark. Everything at 2 minutes shifts 5 seconds to the right...
