While I'm recording from an external device, i can hear the songs, however, there's an echo and sometimes i hear a different song. the playback is ok. it's just on the playthru. any idea why?

Ok...after uninstalling the software and reinstalling many times...it works now. my external device showed in the recording tab on the sound panel until i opened audacity. then it disappeared. don't know what the problem was but it works now. thanks for your help.

I imported one of the files to audacity and nothing happens when i click play.

I'm sorry, I didn't mean that I could hear THOSE files in iTunes...I can just hear my other iTunes files from my computer. So I know my speaker/sound cards are working. I just can't hear the files that I exported thru audacity. I will try and figure out how to import them and let you know. Thanks. :)

Oh, one more thing...when i click on the SPDIF Interface, and right click...and choose Properties, I see 'Conexant Cocao II High Definition Smart Audio'. I went to their website and verified that I have the most recent version.
