well the brand name of the mic is TAKY(udm-606 impedance 600), it is plugged in directly to my computer monitor, no preamps or anything, im just recording my voice and my acoustic guitar right now. i am getting sound and volume, but probably half of what it should be.

audacity cant open LAME for mp3 transfer
i have downloaded the LAME program so i can transfer my wav file to mp3, but after audacity asks me where it should look for the lame program, and i say , 'my documents' i get a pop-up that sais, audacity cannot open mp3 file. any idea's what im doign wrong? jeff.

it just sais, windows NT, windows 98. with an intel pentium2 processor.its probably the older edition. And i have no cd player attachment, its just the basics.
