On my old computer that ran Windows 7, the playback volume of Audacity wasn't exactly correlated with the windows speaker control. Now, running 8.1 it is. That is, moving the playback volume slider in Audacity moves the Speaker/Headphone slider in Windows exactly to the same level. Is there anythin...

The Band Stop Filter goes up to 10,000 as the center point of the frequency that is being removed. That is an "artificial" limit set by the slider scale, The reason for that limit is that the highest frequency possible for CD quality sound is a little over 20 kHz (20000 Hz) which is 1 octave above ...

Thanks for the replies. The Band Stop Filter goes up to 10,000 as the center point of the frequency that is being removed. You can certainly make the width of the band wide enough to center on the 11200 Hz. However, because the band taken out is so wide, the quality of the sound file, in addition to...

Basically, the subject of my post covers my question. I have registered and logged in. Yet under the Windows forum, I find no NEW TOPIC button though, at the left bottom of my screen, it indicates that I can submit posts to that forum.
