Re: A little confused, can someone explain this?
Never mind, as soon as I posted this I found the answer. It has to be set to Waveform (db).

A little confused, can someone explain this?
Why are the top and bottom of a waveform graphic +1 and -1? In the picture, the peak amplitude is 0 db, but it's represented on the graphic as +1. Shouldn't it be 0?

Best way to get peak amplitude?
I found this script that runs from the Nyquist Prompt and it works very good, but apparently it has to be re-entered if you close Audacity. I was wondering if there's any other way to get the peak amplitude that doesn't require the re-enrty of a script, or if there's a way to save this script in Aud...

Re: Waveform is flat on top and bottom
steve, I zoomed in and it does look like it has a lot of clipping. Thanks for sharing that tip. Fortunately it still sounds pretty good. It could always sound better but considering my equipment it's not bad.

Re: Waveform is flat on top and bottom
Thanks for your informative replies. I feel a little embarrassed now, I think it was just the Zoom. When I set it to Normal it looks fine. It sounds pretty good too. Here's a picture of the same file on Normal Zoom.

Waveform is flat on top and bottom
Hi folks. I edit a lot of classic rock files with Audacity and I've got one that has me scratching my head. It's Joan Jett and it looks like it has major clipping but I'm not sure. The top and bottom of the waveform is mostly flat but not over 0. That's how the whole CD looked after being ripped and...

Noise removal problem
Hey all. I've got some mp3s that have a lot of hiss, so I tried Noise Removal on one of them and when I played it back in Audacity it sounded great, but when I tried it in KMPlayer and PotPlayer it still has hiss. Windows Media Player had no hiss for some reason. What does WMP have that the other tw...

Exporting filenames and tags incorrectly
Audacity 2.0.2, EXE installer, XP, 32, SP3. Sorry if this has already been posted. I did a search but couldn't find anything that addressed my specific question. I imported multiple mp3s, edited a few of them, then attempted to export them one at a time. I did two or three before I noticed it was sa...
