Re: Mix and render problem: first channel gets over amplifie
The way I understood the illustration, the dashes are silent stretches and should not contribute to the show. When exported to a single sound file, the Project should produce three short performances one right after the other. We assume they were recorded at roughly the same volume. I do have a que...

Re: Mix and render problem: first channel gets over amplifie
Kozikowski understood the issue. There is no clipping before the mix and render with channel one. Audacity somehow brings the amplitude way up. It should not. Over the past few years I have done hundreds of mix and renders and it is the first time I am running across this problem. The issue doesn't...

Mix and render problem: first channel gets over amplified
Hello all: I have a mix of prerecorded music and my introductions as voice on three channels: [My voice][prerecorded music] -------------------------------------[My voice][prerecorded music] --------------------------------------------------------------------------[My voice][prerecorded music] The f...

Re: Audacity won't import mp3's anymore
Yes, I am logged in as user1 as I always do.
I did check it earlier and it said something to the effect that it was "readonly for the files under it". I made it read-write, but that did not help.
I am not sure why windows is changing things on me...
Thanks,
Al

Re: Audacity won't import mp3's anymore
Your post arrived while I was typing my previous reply. Go into preferences (from the Edit menu) and in the "Directories" section check the location of the Audacity temp folder. Well, here is what I have there: C:Usersuser1AppDataLocalTempaudacity_temp And when I look at the log I see a bunch of er...

Re: Audacity won't import mp3's anymore
Here is an update: * I did some test recording of my voice. Audacity first would display a nice waveform of my voice and then after about 6 seconds the waveform would disappear! * I opened an existing project. Waveform did not disappear. I then imported the mp3 that I could not import earlier. It im...

Audacity won't import mp3's anymore
Hello All: Audacity stopped importing mp3s properly. I now just get a straight line on the y=0 position on x axis. How can make Audacity import properly again? Thanks, Al P.S. here is what my log says: 10:45:30: Audacity 2.0.2 10:45:31: Trying to load FFmpeg libraries... 10:45:31: Trying to load FFm...
