Computer crashes if headset is unplugged
Hello all: When I unplug my Senheiser headset while using audacity, my brand new windows 10 computer crashes. What is it that I can do to prevent this? Currently, I change the microphone and speaker settings manually before unplugging. It seems to help, but I don't always remember to do this. Thanks...

Keyboard shortcut assignment won't stick
Hello all, I have assigned a keyboard shortcut to "Align end-to-end" command. It disappears right away. I manually edited the file that contain the shortcuts, and it disappears from there as well. I made sure that it is not a combination already in use, so this is not an issue. Other shortcut assign...

Re: Extracting sound from VCDs
Thank you. I had the latest ffmpeg. It may be a copyright issue. I was able to get Audacity read a file from a VCD.

Extracting sound from VCDs [SOLVED]
Hello all,
I used to be able to drop files from VCDs to earlier version of Audacity, and extract the music without doing anything special. The new version of Audacity does not let me do this anymore.
Am I missing a plugin?
Thanks,
Al

Re: Cannot get sound from mp3 imports anymore
My Audacity 2.1.0 on Win 7 does not contain any sounds from mp3 imports anymore. I usually drag and drop an mp3 file into Audacity, and for years this worked fine. Now I just get a line instead of a waveform, and no sound! Then this means you cannot write to the Audacity temporary directory specifi...

Re: Sound disappears from one of the channels
Thank you for you reply Koz. I saved the file in a folder on the C drive under "Public Documents". (I access the folder later to transfer the mp3 to my older computer.) I never did an emergency rescue, the project opens fine, and I don't see any messages indicating that I need to do an emergency res...

Using audacity 2.0.5 on windows 7 on an HP laptop with a solid state drive. This is happening from time to time. I am not sure if it is audacity or the computer. Any help is appreciated. Two-hour mix of music and speech. Approximately 20 channels. After finishing editing exported to mp3 Shut down co...

Re: Mix and render problem: first channel gets over amplifie
I solved the issue by copying the contents of each channel manually, and creating a single channel. When I exported this single channel, the resulting mp3 also sounded fine. In other words no over amplifications for the first channel. I think there is a bug in Audacity... Hello all: I have a mix of ...
