low resonance in live recording
On a live recording, there's a resonance in the room, PA, etc that sounds like a peak in the low mids when the singer hits that tone. Using Audacity 2.0.3, I'd like to EQ that peak out. I'm thinking I'd need to watch a spectrum display at the particular point in the recording where the "woof" occurs...

playing a labeled selection
I'm running Audacity 2.0.0 on Windows 7 Ultimate (64 bit, SP1) and trying to play a labeled section. After creating a labeled section, I can click inside the label which selects the section. At that point, "export selection" works as expected. But trying to play the selected labeled section with the...

Re: joining WAV files & joining Audacity projects
That works just fine, Gale. Thanks.
The two files (for example) are now in one Audacity project as two sequential tracks and play seem-lessly. If I wanted them merged into one track, could I do that?

joining WAV files & joining Audacity projects
I have several stereo WAV files I'd like to join as one Audacity project, and hoping someone can point me in the right direction? This is Audacity 2.0.0 on Windows 7 Ultimate, SP1, 64bit. Should I open more than one WAV file at the same time, then cut and paste? Or can I make an Audacity project out...

live recording with over-driven bass
I was in a live Choral performance this weekend, and forgot to position my Zoom H2n recorder until too late, so I set the it on the floor and hoped for the best. Recording is good enough to bring a smile to the Chorus members, but my Upright Bass is both too loud and causes some over-drive distortio...

Re: eliminating spikes in live recording
Thank you both for the replies. I've got a new batch of live recordings to clean up, and want to attach an example (hope a word doc is ok) to make sure I'm asking the right question. These are music class recordings made with a Zoom H2N, and on Windows 7, I'm using Audacity 2.0.0 1) The spikes are u...

removing small blank spot when appending audio to project
When I cut & paste audio to append it to the end of a project, I sometimes wind up with a little blank spot in between the old and the newly added sections.
Can't really hear it go by when playing it, but it looks funny and I can't seem to remove it.
Any secret to this? Thanks...Lyle

eliminating spikes in live recording
On some live recordings, I have some peaks or spikes. I'm trying to eliminate or reduce them so I can amplify the entire track more, but wondering the best way to go about it. I can "drill down" on each spike and delete the few offending cycles, or I can use the amplify effect and reduce a small sec...
