Re: transferring DATs with Tascam US-144mkII via SPDIF
I am recording my LP collection to HD using a S/PDIF connection as the transfer medium between my external ADC box and the PC. My experience has shown the S/PDIF receiver has to be locked to the the sender otherwise the symptoms are exactly as you describe. You record silence. How do you set the Tas...

Below is the spectrogram of the waveform I uploaded and as can be seen there are no glitches as you have show...

@Steve: On page one of this post you stated:- Switching to the spectrogram view and zooming out a little (same selection): firsttrack001.png That red vertical bar shows the frequency representation of that glitch. Now lets zoom out a bit further: window000.png Holy smoke Batman, there's hundreds of ...

Re: occasional noise

Use your 'bad USB set-up' (when you know it is bad). Connect the USB sound source to the same USB hub, if I have u...

Re: occasional noise
@PGA:
Did this 'bad set-up' which adversely affected the data transfers result in corrupted backup files or slow/abandoned transfers? I would suspect, and hope, it was the latter.I have just discovered this morning that even file copy operations can be very adversely affected by a "bad USB setup".

Re: LP Rip with Distortion at the end of side one
@Gale Andrews:
In which version of Audacity is WASAPI incorporated?As I understand it, we have to implement WASAPI support to get 24-bit recording on Windows, not merely update PortAudio.
