Re: Peaky notes, EQ and compressor limitations, uncontrollab
Thanks Robert, as usual, I was not content with that edit (and have removed it)... and on this next one I decided to leave the 59 hertz peak be! Not wanting to risk.. Well and I sampled at silence at end and did not notice any notch-benefit /It may be alien? But inconsistent? Regardless have taken a...

Re: Recording WAV vs. MP3
Here are the (Tascam DR5 recorded) samples: WAVE 16 bit 44 kHz mono (705 kbps): 160825_0087_WAV.wav MP3 ?? bit 44 kHz mono (128 kbps): 160825_0088_MP3.mp3 The WAVE was trimmed with Audacity (2.1.2) (set to 16 bit, not 32 bit float). MP3 trimmed with MP3DirectCut; no volumes or other changes were mad...

Re: Recording WAV vs. MP3
Okay, will post samples ASAP. I'll have to record these from recordings to control that everything is equal.. I figure.. If I perform live, of course each time would be different. And I figure best to use some already well-known established recording, copyright aside, as this will not be for profit,...

Recording WAV vs. MP3
It seems my Tascam dr5 recordings sound better when recorded as MP3 (???). Is it possible Tascam has settings that propel the sound quality of these proprietary MP3 recordings? They do inform that one can not sell these (MP3s).. without acquiring some kind of license or something.. The WAVs (44 kHz/...

Re: Fit Selection & EQ bugs (in case ya didnt know)
Sorry, "previewing" is just in reference to playing. As in simply playing a "fit selection" on Audacity.
I am using windows 7 on an HP 64 bit computer/offline - rolled back to factory condition with no microsoft updates..
Thanks, for the other problems, I'll also try deleting pluginsettings.cfg.

Re: Fit Selection & EQ bugs (in case ya didnt know)
Are you using Cut Preview (C shortcut)? No, not using that Have you tried turning off "Update display while playing" in Tracks Preferences? Yes, but prefer this on. Previous version did not have this problem, allowing both features simultaneously. But not using "Update display while playing", thoug...

Fit Selection & EQ bugs (in case ya didnt know)
The biggest problem 2.1.2 has that 2.1.1 does not is in "fit selection" (edit tool bar). Where it often proceeds to the next part of the song at end of the preview. It does stop but the "fit selection" is then off-screen ... where rewinding, scrolling back, etc., or replay is required to bring selec...
