Re: Checking my computers EQ accuracy

If that includes speakers and headphones, you just jumped into magic land from super accurate digital and somewhat less accurate analog sound. Radio Shack used to sell a very nice Sound Pressure Level meter. I see they don't any more, but that will only tell you the quality of sound in one place of...

Re: Checking my computers EQ accuracy

What's the problem you're trying to solve? Thanks, Cyrano - It's more confirming methodology, my methods anyway, and thought that might be an issue but as things move along I am more in agreement that it is other issues.. which I seem to be figuring out. One of the main quirks, I speculate, is how ...

Checking my computers EQ accuracy

Does anyone know if anything such as a free frequency check (software) program exists (or plugin)? To set frequencies.. frequency levels correctly, hertz? gain? metered accuracy. With example sample metered signals to measure and set system sound correctly, balance, make flat line? default/flat equa...

Questioning the plot spectrum (frequency) analysis

Reading the Audacity plot spectrum:

Question: Is there a general consensus for frequencies/peaks below 100 hertz, roughly the 0 to 70 hertz range, that these should be reduced, if too high, to a certain level?

It seems about 25 dB lower than the songs peak seems the norm (?).

Re: Is there something better than a Compressor[?] to ...

PER PAULS DE-CLICKER: There's an important feature yet missing, that's the reason. Namely stereo linking. Your stereo image will be distorted if you use it as a master plug-in, a vinyl recording for instance. Paul-L De-clicker is an [experimental?] Nyquist-type plugin , not a VST-type. Nyquist plugi...

Re: Is there something better than a Compressor[?] to ...

Thanks Steve, yes, have got a few lined up (compressor plugins I'll try). Trebor/thanks but that's not a problem. Robert JH - okay a new toy, the de-clicker - thanks. per the sample you sent - i can still detect the compressors effect on the third part creating a very slight waver[?]ingness[?] -slig...

Re: My thoughts on musician share sites:

ReverbNation.com is okay but the downloads get the metadata removed and blocked from re-adding! And just about all sites recode/transcode whatever you upload to 128k for their players, which can ruin the sound if it's compressed already at a different rate. ANyway other than that, too many chiefs an...
