Just saw Koz's question. I imported the songs from a music CD, they continue to reside on my HD in the project folder, so they were not missing.

Well, indeed that's what gave me silences, cutting and pasting segments into the same track. Maybe it is a bug that needs to be fixed. That is definitely what happened.

The sounds plays for the first 304 sec and the last 3-4 sec and the middle of the track is silent. I am using version 1...
